15th July 2006 Our last minute entry in
Buxton Wells Dressing Parade was awarded an unexpected but most
acceptable "Highly Commended".
The response from a number of members of the public in the largest
crowd seen for many years was very positive & it seemed well
worth the effort involved to increase awareness of our services.
July 2006 The facility to accept polythene for recycling is
now offered.
June 2006 we acquired 34 demountable bins & a multilift
vehicle. This gives the facility to collect much larger quantities of
paper & cardboard & has already very significantly increased
our throughput of cardboard.
Spring 2006 we installed a significantly wider & faster
conveyor for the baler. This has significantly improved our throughput
speed, especially for cardboard.
April 2005 we installed an automatic baler.
The Bollegraaf 30 machine was manufactured by Bollegraaf in Holland,
one of the best known baler manufacturers in Europe with a name for
quality machines. Although the baler is by no means new,
it had not had a great deal of use by the previous owner & had
been overhauled only a few months before we bought it. A conveyor,
which came with it, is used to feed the paper or cardboard into the
baler, it senses when the chamber is full, the ram pushes up, compressing
the contents. When enough material has been pushed up to make a bale
- approximately 500kgs in weight - the automatic tying mechanism inserts
four wires around the bale then cuts & ties them. The bale is
pushed out of the machine by the following bales, where it is removed
by a forklift truck & stacked until it can be delivered to a paper
or board mill.
